Attorney Maria Laura Mayorga
Maria Laura Mayorga, Esq., is the proud owner and principal attorney of Mayorga Law Office, P.L.C., where she brings over a decade of legal experience to her clients. A dedicated advocate and litigator, Maria focuses her practice on family law and personal injury. In addition to her legal practice, Maria is a respected mediator, known for her ability to resolve high-conflict disputes with professionalism and empathy.
Maria’s journey is one of resilience and determination. A first-generation Mexican American, she was born in Chicago, Illinois, to parents who immigrated from Zacatecas, Mexico in the early 1980s. Raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Maria overcame numerous challenges, including becoming a teenage mother while pursuing her education. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Grand View University and later graduated with honors from Drake University Law School in 2015.
As a wife and mother of three, Maria understands the importance of balance and perseverance. Her deep commitment to justice and community advocacy drives every aspect of her work. She is widely recognized for her relentless work ethic, unwavering dedication, and her strong, personal connection to the clients she serves.
A dedicated Latina leader, Maria is a founding member of the Latina Leadership Initiative of Greater Des Moines, where she champions the empowerment of women and families in her community. Outside of her professional and advocacy roles, Maria treasures time with her family and friends, finding joy in the moments that keep her grounded.
